How to Identify the Quality of LED Strips

We can make a preliminary identification from the simple appearance of the LED strip, and basically we can distinguish the quality of the LED strip.
1. look at the solder joint
The LED light strips produced by regular LED light strip manufacturers are produced using SMT patch technology, solder paste and reflow soldering process. Therefore, the solder joints on the LED light strip are relatively smooth and the amount of solder will not be much. The solder joints extend in an arc shape from the FPC pad to the LED electrode. The cottage version of the LED strip has an uneven amount of solder, which is more like a round dot that surrounds the solder foot. At the same time, there will be different degrees of tin tips. This is a typical phenomenon of manual soldering.
2. see the packaging
Regular LED light strips will be packaged with anti-static coils, usually 5 meters or 10 meters, and then sealed with anti-static and moisture-proof packaging bags. The copycat version of the LED light strip will use a recycled coil tray because of cost savings, and then there is no anti-static and moisture-proof packaging bag. If you look closely at the coil tray, you can see that there are marks and scratches left when removing the label.
3. see the label
Regular LED lights will have printed labels on the packaging bags and reels, not printed labels. The copy label is printed, and the specifications and parameters are not uniform.
4. Look at the cleanliness of the surface of the LED strip
If the LED light strip produced by the SMT process is used, the surface cleanliness is very good, and no impurities and stains can be seen. However, if a copycat LED strip produced by a hand soldering process is used, no matter how the surface is cleaned, there will be stains and cleaning marks. At the same time, flux and tin residue will remain on the surface of the FPC.
5. Look at FPC quality
FPC is divided into copper and rolled copper. The copper foil of the copper-clad board is protruding. If you look closely, you can see from the connection between the pad and the FPC. The rolled copper is closely connected to the FPC, and can be bent arbitrarily without the phenomenon of pads falling off. If the copper clad board is bent too much, the pad will fall off, and the excessive temperature during repair will also cause the pad to fall off.

The regular LED light strip will be accompanied by instructions and light strip specifications in the box, and will also be equipped with LED light strip connectors or card holders; while the cottage version of the LED light strip box does not have these accessories, because After all, some manufacturers can still save the province.
